Yes, it’s been one really really long break from Blogger. It’s not like I was doing something that was time consuming, preventing me from writing. To be truly honest I didn’t have much to say. I was at a period in my life where a daily, weekly, or even a monthly report would say the exact same thing.

“Got up took a shower. Watched TV. Read a little. Ate. Now going to bed.”

How’s that for chillin! Up until recently, that was my life. However, now I’ve been rejuvenated. Driven to wake up at 6-6:30, get ready, and go to WORK! Yup, I’sa gots me a J-O-B.

Now why have I decided to write, after telling people that I’d be too busy to even hangout? Well, basically, I have a full day of free-time. Today’s schedule is very light considering that I’m 1) New and don’t know much and 2) My boss is out of the office. I was left with light duties. So I thought I’d preoccupy some time by writing today. Just like I had at my last job, when times were slow.

NEW JOB

It’s great! I couldn’t ask for anything more. Definitely worth sacrificing 3-4 months of payable work at home hours. I am currently sitting in a chair located in downtown San Francisco. I have just completed my supply order form. I got me a nice new gel mouse pad. I’ve been given yet another laptop! Sweet! After looking at the benefits package I’m pretty happy. We even have a concierge desk, discounts on all kinds of tix. I like the bus ride to BART. I’m getting a lot of reading done. There are lots of places to eat around here. I love people watching as I stroll along (However, all the eye candy is giving me whiplash!). I have friends close by, a.k.a. lunch buddies!

Downsides, gotta remember things better. (I forgot my bills on the dinner room table) Parking at BART sucks on Mondays after 7:20am. (I’m not doing that again. I’m buying my BART Plus tix today!). I still have at least 21/2 months left before I really get used to working here. (I’m like a sponge, just trying to soak up as much as I can)

BIRTHDAYS

It’s that time of year again! So far those who’s birthday’s have passed are the following.

Nov.15 Ed Soriano
Nov. 27 Mello Salvador
Dec. 1 Jenn Nolasco

And this week alone, at my company, there are birthdays all this week, my boss, her peer, and another co-worker. Wow! There are a lot of December Bdays. Speaking of which, it’s my youngest sister’s, as well as my, birthday this 24th. Damn I’m getting older. Too bad, this year it falls on a weekday. Otherwise, I’d be taking off to go with the family to LAS VEGAS. I’m gonna have to make that up to myself later on, maybe sometime in January. For her birthday, I’ve decided I’m just gonna give her money.

NEW TOYS

I just got me a new phone/PDA. I’ve succumbed and bought me the Handspring Treo 300. I couldn’t resist. 1) It comes with free shipping on Amazon 2) They’re offering 150 bucks off any PDA devices. 3) Sprint’s offering a 50 buck rebate on new activations! That’s over 200 bucks I’m saving! How could I resist?? Now, I can sync up my work calendar with my home. I can transfer all my contact info from my old laptop to my new one at work. Hopefully, the new sprint service, will allow for better reception in my home. I don’t wanna carry a phone and a PDA to work, especially since my PDA doesn’t work anymore.

GOLF

I’m taking up this hobby again, after much influence from Mr. Soriano. He’s a newbie to the sport. He’s getting better, but that’s at the range. All will tell once he steps on the golf course. The date is this weekend, Sunday. He and his fellow co-workers will be stepping on the golf course for the first time, at a Par 3 9-hole course. This should be interesting. I should go too. I definitely, need the practice.

FINALLY…
XMAS PRESENTS

I really need to tally up all my friends again this year. Last year I lagged, consequently my gift purchases sucked ASS!!! I’m gonna try and stay away from buying stuff from Bath and Body Works as well as DVDs. (The exception goes to all of my friends who are movie enthusiasts.) This year I hope it will be different. I think I’m gonna do my research first, and then list out what to get for whom. Finally, I’ll probably wait until payday to do a one day shop event. Most likely all major and minor purchases on a Saturday, unless, I find something better in Chinatown. Wish me luck.

*Now that I have a job there’s a lot more to say, huh??!!
**Note: I will no longer host www.4wordmotion.com. I’m a lazy ass that’ll never get up a decent website worth putting up on there. So as of Dec. 14 that site will be gone and all I will have is this free blogger site. Oh well!

HMMMM.... THAT'S INTERESTING!!

So I interviewed last week for a position in sales. Not my bread and butter, but after reading "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" I thought, "what the heck?". First things first, I get lost. I'm late. I've already come in w/ my sterotypes, yada yada yada. I drive to the warehouse section of South San Francisco, behind Tanfran. The building itself is nestled within a broken down neighborhood. The building very hmmm.. let's put it into perspective.....GHETTO! My interview was less than 10 minutes long. After that I became skeptical about the position. However, I still wanted to "check" it out.

Today was the day for me to go out in the "field" and see if I'm a good match for it. First thing upon getting to the office (@ 8:30 in the morning!). I sat in the waiting area w/ a magazine. In the background you could hear chanting, yelling, and clapping. Much like a cheer squad at a prep rally! My first thought... Okkkkkaaayyy!!! Hello!

The way this sales team works is much like a pyramid scam. Basically you get paid incentives for every voucher sold. The vouchers are for local business within your territory's area. Once you meet your initial 6 week sales quotas you can move up and progress into a manager trainee program. After that you can start your own branch. You make money off of the people under you. After hearing this I probably should have said, "Okay I'm good, No thanks!" Oh well I decided to go out with him anyway. Our mission: Meet at l00 people within a 6 hour time frame. (The law of percentages: At least 10% of the people you meet will purchase your product) The edge of their product versus any other regular old salesman?.....They pitch the business of their client, who so happens to be a neighboring business. In this case, "De La Pau" on Park street right off of MacArthur. They provide their client with the all the advertising material. Business like it because no matter if the rep doesn't sell all the vouchers he/she gets free word of mouth advertising.

I met the rep who was gonna show me the ropes. A middle-aged man (poot) with 4 kids (the eldest was 18). He took me out to his territory for the day, Oakland. The spot was a cool place near my good friends apartment, right next to Lake Merritt. So our day consisted of walking into buildings, stores, & shops asking if they would like to buy $300 worth of day spa stuff (facials & massages) for $50. Let's just say there's a lot of walking in this job! Up, down, straight, and across! The most fortunate thing for me was that this was in an area near my friends place. I found a great spot for the Fredator to watch football games. I found a wireless internet cafe for us to chill at, complete with jazz tunes and an outdoor patio.

My highlights are as follows:

Watching a middle-age man pick up on chicks more than half his age! I would have done some picking up myself, however, I was told that not to say anything. (That didn't stop me on one atttempt, hehehhehe!)

Noticing how some businesses should really reconsider the name they display to the public:

FRICKIN BECKER
WONG CHIROPRACTIC
MOIST, THOMPSON, KOCH

hahahahahahaha!

HIATUS

After leaving work July 19, 2002 I have been turned off to blogging. Sorry all. I have nothing to report from my comfy couch! At least I've had a chance to get some stuff done. Read more. Tommorrow I'm going to Milpitas to teach my cousin how to play some golf. He has no clue what to do, so I have to go over the basics with him. I'll probably won't be able to swing the club well though. (I'm a bit sore from my workout today!) I do wanna say that having all this time is quite refreshing so far, but I can see myself getting restless real soon. Tried to teach some kids how to play pool, but I don't like walking in to a place without any structure. Besides the place is closed now. We'll see how everything pans out.

JOB SEARCH

I've expected everything that's happening so far. I even have my out clause ready. In the mean time I've gone out on a limb and interviewed for some sales job in S. San Francisco. I'm most likely gonna turn it down if I'm offered something there. I'm a die hard for the city. I wanna work down there soooo bad! I'm actually willing to go back into accounting, just to do it. I'm totally in love with the city! Why? The commute is awesome! I don't have to drive at all anymore. I take bus to BART, then BART to downtown. All the time spent not concentrating on the road or watching girls pass by has allowed me the opportunity to actually get some reading done. So far "Lord of the Rings" Book 1 is complete, as well as "Rich Dad Poor Dad". I'm hoping to get through a couple of more books before I find something. Next week should be a good week for job listings. I've noticed that this is what usually happens. Postings for what I wanna do usually come around the end or very beginning of each month. Since I was away in L.A. during those times last month my opportunity passed.

L.A./ VEGAS

That was some quality time spent away. It was good to see some old college buddys, as well as spend time with my cuz'ns. Then Vegas with moms was good too. I haven't been spending time at the rent's house lately, so going to Vegas with her was splendid. I even took home some cash. I'm on a winning streak there.

DON'T WORRY ALL I'M GOOD (So if i don't post that means I want you to call me and talk to me, cuz I'd rather go out and tell you over coffee than have you read about it over the internet. *Hint *Hint!)

JUST MESSIN AROUND

Yesterday, I hungout with my boy Nico. We checked out a free concert at Stern Grove. We knew we were late, but still managed to get primo parking. (It's a secret spot that we stumbled on. I'll tell you if you take me to another concert at Stern Grove). We saw some hawaiian bands play. The main artist was Keali'i Reichel. Lotsa heads at this event. I even ran into this dude I used to bartend with. After standing for about an hour (I felt like a tree firmly planted in the ground) We were able to hook up some good seats (on the ground) w/ Claire and Michelle. Thanks again! (& and my tree trunk legs thank you too!) After the bands were finished we hungout for a bit to chat it up.

Boys and their SOs

Okay, maybe I'm being a little too much with saying that I don't see my boys anymore cuz they're all hooked up. I don't mean to be. I'm just like watching you go "naw dude, I don't spend ALL my time with her!". I understand that whole spending time with the gfs thing. I am also very aware of the time y'all get to hangout with me. I'm not trippin.. so don't trip when I say shit like that.. I'm just being an ass. Nor do I intentional not call to tell you what's going on or invite you to stuff.

Here.....I'mma break it down for you like this..... I call to invite when it's somewhere I plan to go and am willing to drive to. So if I don't invite that just means I didn't plan it, I might not be driving, or I didn't get an okay whether I could invite anyone else. That's why I don't call to invite people to stuff. SOOO DON'T GET MAD!! Oh and no I'm not callin you because you have a gf. I'm not callin because I'm not doing anything but sitting on the couch watching television and getting fatter! Hahahahaha...

NO WORK TODAY

So yet another excuse to go out.

FIRST STOP...

El Toritos in Burlingame. I was one of the first to arrive. I didn't know the guy next to me was part of Fred's crew. So as people trickle in.... we ordered grub. I already drank a courvosieur and 2 jack and cokes. I tried to get back into drinking cognacs... but I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. Had some good conversations. Rene dropped mad knowledge on hiking. What to bring? Where to go? Shit like that. Ed mentioned his Annual SLO BBQ. Too bad I'm in LA that weekend. This'll be the first one I miss in 2, 3 years? Love that BBQ. Good Grub, Basketball, and company. Although, I have noticed one thing.. the guys seem to change every year. The girls I know or have seen before. The guys however, are always different. I'm always getting reintroduced to the same girls, but the guys are always different. It's as if they get new boyfriends every year. Kinda like a new summer dress. "oh I'm not gonna take him... I took him last year" Kinda funny I think.

Anyways, since Bern is far away in a land where they have fucked up keyboards, Nico wanted to go out. So, he picked me up, then another friend Sheri. We ended up at Kit Kat (a.k.a End Up). Got there b4 anyone, which means we got in for free. I had one jack and coke. No buzz tonight. After drinking at El Toritos... I didn't feel like having anymore. Danced a little, but I wasn't feelin the music. Actually, come to think of it I never do, but Nico likes that place. I just like hanging out with friends. I have a flavor for pool. So for me that's the highlight of going there. I had a pretty good run, up until the last guy. I wanted to leave on a good note. Win and pass the cue to another person. To bad that wasn't the case. This dude I was playin was HELLA FUCKIN SLOW. He ruined my streak by taking too long. My powers were halted! Especially after he caught a lucky break with me missing the eight ball and setting up his next three shots! My only consolation... looking at him concentrate on making sure he hit those balls in. Yeah cuz if he fucked up he would've been the laughing stock.

After that Sheri suggessted El Farilitios (sp?). I agreed. So I ate a Quesidilla and Nico & Sheri shared a Super Nacho. Now I'm home. Gonna put on Enough (w/ J Lo). Tomorrow should be a good day! Er.. Today will be a good day. (To sleep in!! hahaha)

Note: Next week is my last week of work. No partying until that Friday!

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Today I plan to get a ton of work done! I don't want to have to deal with all of this on my last week here. So if I can, I'm gonna try to get it all done, so that my boss has no excuses if he's not done reviewing them on his end. I don't forsee it taking him that long though.

The plan:

1) Work till 5
2) Pick up my suit
3) Workout (back and bis)
4) Box out
5) Sleep early

I wish I had done this yesterday! Instead I was in a scramble. I had to stop at a suit shop (Brooks Brothers makes great suits). Stop at the office to drop off and pick up some work. Go to SF to get my suit altered. I hate those yellow metered parking spots... hella fuckin confusing! Luckily I was able to finish. I took the rest of the day to do stuff for me.

Had lunch with Eddie. Cheap eats are the best. It's even more of a plus when you go to the mom and pop cheap eats! Like Eddie said at least you know the money goes back to them and not some corporate giant. I had to add that the best is when you go to mom and pop stores and they remember your order. Currently, I have two restaurants near my work where I don't even have to look at the menu, they just repeat my order (w/o me saying anything) so that I can just chill as I wait for the food to come.

After that headed home to change and workout. Called up the Fredator to workout with me. I was kinda bummed that I couldn't do a 30 min run, but alas it's been 3 days since my last workout. I'm defineately gonna have to get in a 6 mile run this week/ weekend.. to make up for it! After that I did some work, cuz I went out last night.

I hit up the Top with Genghis. Met Nico and Eddie there. I wasn't feelin the first dj. Neither was Eddie or Nico. They bounced early. The next dj came on and was on point. I got buzzed off of all the alcohol I drank. However, I was still coherent to drive. I just knew that I'd have to have a bite to eat later. I heated up some spaghetti that I made the night before and grubbed. Then I crashed out!
